Differences
The differences that make the world a vibrant place
Which contrasts the white to the black and yellow
Now kills, murders and destroys lives
Now turns evil.
The changes that could have brought hearts together
Which moulds characters and personalities
Now brings about hatred for those
Who are different.
Can the world be of one same thought? Or even two person breathe
Think and talk the same?
Why must differences be pushed out of minds
Be forced out be threatened out.
The differences which brings about understanding
Which calls for celebration of racial harmony
Now kills, murders and destroys lives
Now turns evil.
my braces
When I first got my braces, oh pain pain PAIN!
The pain in my teeth in my head
really pain pain PAIN!
All I felt was hurt and MORE hurt
and the braces, they were poking everywhere
In the mirror I saw my raw sore gums
From them extented the uneven teeth
And on the teeth was the brackets attached
Yucks! I think I look like
a big mouthed fool
So I shall not open my mouth except to eat
Well, maybe the dinners could be skipped
I couldn't even touch my teeth together
And to everyone I would say
Those braces aren't curing me, they're killling me!
So who was the one who asked me to put
those dreaded metals into my mouth
And my mum, didnt she say
That it was too expensive, we could give it a miss?
We still went for it
Ahh! the braces!
Everyday a slow toture!
Until, quite suddenly, one day
I opened my mouth to bite eat drink like normal
For a while I had forgotten really
that the braces was there
The weird feelings
The pain
All gone! In a flash!
Wow, a miracle? I couldn't believe it
But I knew, the day was coming
And they were out!! The braces!
Yes! No more!
No longer the pain the fear the tears
They were OUT!
And I grinning, showing my neat straight teeth
And years later, when people said
Hey I remembered you wore braces
And me, I'll say,
Yea, they hurt like crazy. Slow toture!
But now that I think of it,
it's not THAT bad actually.
